By
Coach Matt Slaba

On Wednesday, June 12, the VFW Post 7319 teeners went to Alexandria to play two games.

The 14U team gave up six runs in the second inning. That would be the only inning in which Alexandria would score, but that was more than enough as Wagner would fall by a 6-1 count. In that inning they used one hit, five walks, and two errors to plate their runs.

Wagner mustered their one run on just one hit, an Ed Ulrich single. Tyler Ronfeldt, Beau Otte, and Lacen Sully each drew a walk.

Colton Zephier started on the mound and lasted 1.1 innings. He gave up three unearned runs on one hit and a walk. Tyler Ronfeldt followed Zephier to make his season debut. He allowed three earned runs to score and walked four. Trasin Dilts was next on the mound and he got the final out via a groundout. Dominic Doom then threw two scoreless innings, striking out six.

The 16U bats were held at bay by Tyler Sanderson who pitched 6.1 innings. He struck out 13 Wagner hitters on the night to lead Alexandria to a 5-0 shutout win. Doom collected two hits for Wagner to lead us at the plate. Frank Soukup, Javian Pesicka, Brady Cournoyer, Trasin Dilts, and Octavian Kocer all collected singles for Wagner.

Soukup was the starting pitcher. He went two innings giving up two runs, one earned, on two hits while walking none and striking out five. Cournoyer threw three innings and allowed one earned run on three hits while walking two and striking out one. Javian Pesicka threw the final inning allowing two unearned runs and striking out two.
