WAGNER TEENER'S BASEBALL RESULTS

By
Coach Matt Slaba

On, Monday, June 19th, Wagner’s Post 7319 Teener squads hosted The Sticks from Canistota- Freeman.

The 14U game started with the Sticks plating six runs in the top of the first. From there it was a pretty even contest but the final score found Wagner on the low end of an 11-4 score.

Edward Ulrich got the start on the mound and would last just one inning as he gave up six earned runs on four hits, two walks, a hit batsman, while striking out two.

Dominic Doom then took over and went three innings. He gave up three runs on four hits as he walked one and struck out five.

Kingston Brunelle then came on to pitch the last inning. He allowed two runs on two hits, two hit batsmen and walk as he would strike out one.

Doom, Avery Medicine Bear, Steven Peters, Beau Otte, Weston Bierma, and Jamian Medicine Horn all collected one hit for Wagner.

In the 16U game Carter Cournoyer started on the mound and went 2.1 innings. He allowed two earned runs on three hits while walking one, hitting one, and striking out five.

Brady Cournoyer followed Carter and would have the exact same pitching line with two exceptions. Brady struck out three and hit no one.

Preston McFayden was the final pitcher of the night. He also went 2.1 innings. He allowed three runs, only one of which were earned. He walked two and struck out two.

The pitching wasn’t bad in this one but it wasn’t good enough as the offense would plate four runs compared to seven for the Sticks in the Wagner loss.

Wagner collected five hits on the night. Javian Pesicka, Carter Cournoyer, and McFayden all had doubles. McFayden drove in two runs with his. Daniel Soukup would add an RBI infield single and Joey Cournoyer had an RBI single as well.

Wagner’s Post 7319 Teener’s took to the field in Tyndall on Wednesday, June 21. Both of these games used primarily 14U kids as our boys who play both teeners and legion were getting a break.

In the 14U game the host team would come away with an 6-1 win. Edward Ulrich pitched the first four innings of this game. He allowed six runs, five earned, on 11 hits while walking one and striking out three.

Trey Segura pitched the fifth inning and gave up zero runs on no hits and one walk.

At the plate for Wagner, Ulrich, Trasin Dilts, Weston Bierma, and AJ Kotab each collected one hit.

In the second game we tried out some different pitchers. Steven Peters would go one inning and give up four earned runs on three hits and four walks with one K.

Tyler Tjeerdsma then came on for an inning. He allowed one run on zero hits but walked four.

Jamian Medicine Horn, Malaki Segura, and Dominic Doom would all pitch in this game as well. They would give up a combined six runs as Wagner fell by a count of 11-3.

Wagner’s lone hit in this game came from Ulrich with a single.

The 16U Teener teams traveled to Winner this past weekend to play in their annual tournament.

The second game of the evening matched us up against the hosts from Winner. Things were looking good for Wagner as they took a 4-0 lead into the 5th inning. However, Winner would plate two runs in that inning, one more in the 6th, and then two in the final inning to come away with the 5-4 win.

Brady Cournoyer was the starting pitcher and went six innings. He gave up three earned runs on seven hits while striking out six.

Pesicka would come on in the seventh to try and close it out but could not come up with an out as all four batters would reach, three on hits and one on an error.
