The Lady Red Raider volleyball team traveled to Vermillion on Thursday, August 28th to face the Tanagers. The Raiders picked up their first win of the season with match scores of 25-18, 25-21, 21-25, and 25-17.

Leading the way at the net Hannah Holzbauer threw down15 kills, Ravyn Medricky added 13, Ashlyn Koupal earned 8, Braxton Nedved had 4 and Brylie Link had 3. Nedved dished out 32 assists on the night. In the back court, Nedved led the defense with 24 digs, Libby Kotab and Holzbauer added 20, Medricky picked up 11, and Koupal had 8. Behind the service line Kotab earned 14 points, Nedved tallied 12 points/3 aces, Medricky earned 7 points/1 ace, and Link had 6 points/2aces in the win. Brianna Fuchs and Medricky earned 3 and 2 stops up at the net.

The JV team picked up their first win with scores of 25-17 and 25-23. Camry Link led all hitters with 7 kills and Adara Hopkins added 3. Setters Kylin Insko and Mila Hopkins contributed 9 and 5 assists on the night. Defensive leaders were M. Hopkins with 9 digs, Hayden Knudsen picked up 8, Insko added 6, and A. Hopkins had 5. Insko led all servers with 10 points/5 aces while C. Link and Mateya Bruguier added 7 points/3 aces.

The C team battled but came up short with scores of 16-25 and 18-25. Taelyn Knebel led at the net putting down 4 kills and Peytyn Weichmann had 4. Wiechmann dished out 4 assists and Emma Turner had 1. Izzy Myer and Wiechmann led the defense scrapping for 5 digs apiece. Knebel and Wiechman led behind the service line with 2 points/1 ace.
