The Wagner Red Raiders jumped out to an early 9-2 lead over the Avon Lady Pirates and held on for the 17-7 victory on Monday April, 17th at home.

Emma Yost led the Raiders with a triple, double, and four RBIs. Libby Kotab contributed a single, two walks, and brought in three. SheaLee Turner and Ravyn Medricky each had one hit on the night.

The Red Raiders were walked 18 times and tore up the base paths as four players stole at least two bases. Kotab led the way with three.

Sydney Cournoyer started in the circle for Wagner. She faced 19 batters, striking out two and walking two. Lydia Yost finished the game, striking out four batters and walking one.

With only allowing four runs in the third inning, the Wagner Red Raiders Junior Varsity defeated Avon JV 13-4. The girls fired up the offense in the first inning, when SheaLee Turner drew a walk, scoring one run.

Wagner then scored six runs in the second inning. Aubrey Kazena, Turner, Angelita Zephier, and Brooklin Neilsen each had RBIs in the big inning. The team racked up ten hits on the night. Ravyn Medricky, Aubrey Medricky, and Aubrey Kazena all had two hits. Braxton Nedved, SheaLee Turner, Angelita Zephier, and Brooklin Nielsen all added hits as well. Ravyn Medricky hit the long ball and added another homerun under her belt.

Mara Wright led the Wagner Red Raiders to victory on the rubber. She surrendered four runs on seven hits over five innings, striking out six.

The Wagner Red Raiders host Freeman/Marion/Freeman Academy on Monday April 24th for a varsity double-header starting at 4:00.
