The Red Raiders got a big night from Carter Cournoyer on Friday night in Tyndall. The senior forward scored 22 points and grabbed 11 rebounds to lift the Raiders to a 65-51 road victory. Carter scored 12 of his 22 in the final period. The game was tight for the first 3 periods, Wagner led 17-13 after the first quarter and 30-27 at the half. Bon Homme outscored Wagner by 1 point in the third quarter making the score 42-40 heading into the final frame. Wagner would lead by as many as 16 in the fourth quarter. Jesse Zephier had a nice night with 13 points and 9 rebounds, Parker Petry scored 11 points, Joey Cournoyer Jr. added 10, Preston McFayden scored 7 and Brady Cournoyer 2. Wagner is now 4-2 and plays tomorrow night in Corsica.

Wagner wins JV at Bon Homme

The Raider JV team improved to 5-1 with a win in Bon Homme Friday night. Wagner led 17-11 after the first quarter and 21-17 at the half. The boys scored 22 third quarter points to expand their lead to 43-27. Bon Homme made a late charge but the Raiders held on to win the game 50-43. Javian Pesicka paced Wagner with 15 points, Brady Cournoyer scored 13 and Carlos Galindo added 11. Treyson Zephier scored 5 points, Ky Apran, Dominic Doom and Winston Little Moon each added 2.

Wagner Falls Short in Corsica The Wagner boys faced a hot shooting Corsica Stickney team Saturday afternoon. Wagner could not over come the Jaguars 12 of 25 performance from the 3 point line. 5 different Jaguars made shots from behind the arch. Wagner trailed early 20-8 after the first period. The Raiders won the second quarter by 1 point and trailed 32-21 at the half. The Jaguars made up for that and more in the third period outscoring Wagner by 4 making the score 49-34 heading in to the fourth period. The Wagner boys never gave up, they made several runs in the fourth period cutting the lead to 5 at one point but that was as close as they would get as they lost the game 63-51. Preston McFayden led Wagner with 17 points, Joey Cournoyer Jr. added 15. Parker Petry scored 9, Carter Cournoyer 5, Jesse Zephier 3 and Brady Cournoyer 2. Wagner is now 4-3 and plays 2 home games next week.

Wagner JV Wins 6th in a Row A good defensive third quarter allowed Wanger to pull away from Corsica-Stickney on Saturday. The Raiders held the Jaguars to just 2 points and scored 9 to gain a 28-22 advantage. Wagner led 9-8 after the first period and trailed 19-20 at the half. Wagner outscored Corsica Stickney 12-9 in the fourth period and won the game 40-31. Javian Pesicka led the way for Wagner with 11 points, Frank Soukup added 8, Brady Cournoyer scored 7, Carlos Galindo 6, Treyson Zephier 3, Dominic Doom 3 and Leon Fields 2.
