The Wagner 7/8 basketball teams travelled to Gregory to face the Gorillas for a pair of games on Thursday, February 2. In the second quarter, their offense got going and found the weak spots in the Gorillas zone and pushed their lead to 16-5 at the half. The Raiders had some great ball movement on offense and made the extra pass to find the open players which led to them increasing their lead at the end of the 3rd to 30-9. Everyone got a lot of playing time in the 4th and the Raiders ended up winning 32-14. The win raises their record to 6-3 on the season. Leading scorers were Steven Peters with 16, Payne Petry with 6, Cruise Koupal and Kingston Brunelle with 4, and Brannon Bruguier with 2.

In the 8th grade game, the Raiders got off to a hot start and hit two 3’s and a fast break layup to jump out to a 8-0 lead early in the first. The Raiders turned it up defensively and held the Gorillas scoreless as they built a 24-10 lead at the half. They continued to push the ball and make some transition baskets as the Raiders increased their lead to 37-16 after 3. The team went back and forth in the final period as the Raiders won 48-26.
