It was another warm day to race for The Wagner Cross Country Team. This time, the meet was held at the golf course near Tyndall. This is the most challenging course the Raiders have to run all season. This course is fully of long, tall hills and the runners have to take on two of the greatest hills on this course as they run their races. The students are glad to have this race in the books. However, this will not be the last time they race this course this 2022 cross country season. The region meet will be held here again at the end of the season. The team is preparing for this course again for regions with specialized training runs involving hills.
Wagner had a great day of running on this course. Although it was a major challenge, they kids took it on head-on. The varsity had a long course staring on flat ground and building into the hills. That was not the case for the Junior Varsity or the Middle School runners, though. The start of their race was up a hill. This was a tough start but, The Raider Runners persisted and made it through the course unscathed and did a fine job. The results are as follows: Varsity Boys 5K Lael Young 19:52 Jackson Rolston 21:48 Sidoral Zephier 21:52 Caleb Zephier 22:11 Vincent Bechen 22:25 Teddy Slaba 22:44 Junior Varsity Boys 4K Jason Weston 15:42 Charley Kocer 15:51 DJ Schroeder 20:11 Junior Varsity Girls 4K Presley Slaba 18:25 Jessica Barnett 18:59 Middle School 3K Taya Stone 14:39 Olivia Podzimek 15:23 Wyatt Roberts 21:17
