We all know that there can sure be some really windy days here in South Dakota. However, last week, there weren’t really many real windy days… that is except for t h e day of our cross country meet! The wind did not care that The Wagner Raiders Cross Country Team had a meet on Thursday Oct. 29th. It was one of the windiest days of the week last week and it was a concern for all teams involved.

With the wind howling in our ears and camp blankets being whipped with the wind, the races started. The start of the race was directly into that wind and proved to be a challenge for all racers, and with the varsity runners having to run their race loop twice, they had to face that wind head-on several times. But, The Raiders took on the wind challenge and powered through. Every one of The Raider Cross Country members took on this race and really pushed through. It was amazing to watch these kids power through such inclement weather conditions. Every one of our runners held tight and raced well.
