Two members of The Daniel Newcomb Chapter of the National Society for Daughters of the American Revolution, donated two books to the Wagner Public Library on Wednesday, September 25th. Local members of the Daniel Newcomb Chapter of the National Society for Daughters of the American Revolution are Juanita Stone and Sister Pat Mylott. They donated We Fought for Freedom by Tara Ross and Her Name was Mary Katharine by Ella Schwartz. The two books are recommended for readers aged seven to ten years of age. The Daughters of the American Revolution is a women’s service organization whose mission is to promote historic preservation, education, and patriotism. For the past 15 years, Juanita has been working to be able to prove that her family fought in the Revolutionary War. Through her research, she was able to find four members from the Meteer side of her family that fought for both sides during the War. She was about to finally join the Daughters of the American Revolution at the beginning of 2024.
