By

GOLDEN EAST

Helen O’Connor grew up in Lake Andes and she is our Patriots fan here at the Wagner Good Sam. She loves the color green and gambling. Her best memory is when she had her first baby. Her hobbies are word searches and she also used to enjoy sewing. Her favorite food is goulash. Her favorite trip was when she visited New Mexico and if she could travel back in time, she would want to go on that trip again. Her proudest accomplishment is all her children. Her advice is to “Go for what you want to accomplish in life and you can do anything you set your mind to.”

Ernie Rouse is our movie star at the Wagner GSS. One of his best memories is playing in “Dances with Wolves” with Kevin Costner. He has some great stories about his acting days. His favorite color is blue. He used to enjoy fishing and we can always find Ernie here at the Good Sam with a cup of coffee and some friendly conversation. His favorite food is steak and if he could travel anywhere, he would like to visit Disney Land. One of his proudest accomplishments in his life is his time in the service. If he could travel back in time to visit with anyone famous he would like to visit with President Kennedy. His words of advice are to “Work hard in everything you do.”

SUNSET WEST

Vit Krcil married his sweetheart, Mildred, in 1957. His family is one of his proudest accomplishments and he loves when his kids, grandkids, and great-grandkids visit. His hobbies were working, dancing, getting together with friends, and playing cards. His favorite color is Blue and his favorite food was spaghetti. When he was younger he was a server at the Catholic Church and later became an usher. He served his country in the Marines for 2 years and then enjoyed farming for almost 40 years. His favorite trip was his cruise to Jamaica and Cozumel with his wife. If he could travel back in time, he would travel to when he could get around and walk. Vit and Mildred are such a wonderful couple and we enjoy having Vit here at Wagner Good Samaritan Society.

Joyce Broz and her husband loved to travel and did it quite often. She spent a lot of time in Kansas City before moving back to Wagner. Her favorite trips were Kansas, Vegas, and going to visit relatives. The best memory she has is March 4th, the day she got married and she considers it one of her proudest accomplishments that she was married 56 years to the love of her life. Her favorite color is Red and her favorite food is pizza. Her hobbies include solitaire, painting ceramics with her sister-in-law, and playing golf. Her husband and her made a makeshift golf course in their pasture and she said they lost a lot of golf balls to the creek that ran through the property. Her advice for everyone is, “Remember that you can’t always be right and be willing to learn from others.

CENTER VALLEY

Paul Wiechmann lived on a farm 6 miles north of town. He finished 8th grade in Wagner and then worked on the family farm. Paul joined the Air Force and that is where he met his wife Pearl. Pearl and Paul got married in the 1950’s which he said is his best memory. They had seven children together and his family is one of his proudest accomplishments. His hobbies are working on cars, fishing, and hunting. His favorite food is steak and potatoes. His favorite trip was when he traveled with his wife and Mavis and Richard Hoffman to Alaska. If he could travel back in time, he would go back to his time in Spokane, WA where he was in the service and where he met his sweetheart. His advice for everyone is to “Always be honest and treat others like you would like to be treated.”

Everyone who knows Betty Mashino knows her favorite color is Pink, perfect for our Valentine’s Day celebration. She married her husband, Cecil, in 1960 and the day she got married and the days her babies were born are her best memories. In her free time, she enjoys crocheting and doing word search puzzles. Her favorite food is fish sandwiches from Boom’s. Cecil and Betty would take trips once a year to Montana and she said those were her favorite trips. If she could travel back in time, she would go back to when her sister and her went to Germany when her nephew was in the service. Her advice for everyone is, “If you decide to do something, don’t let anyone talk you out of it. You can do anything you set your mind to.”

Congratulations to all our Wagner Good

Samaritan Kings and Queens!
