On Tuesday, September 2nd, it was a beautiful day as The Wagner Raiders lined up for the start of their race held in Gregory, SD. The race started in the early afternoon and the rain held off for most of the races making it a great day to run.

A total of 15 Cross Country teams made it to this race. Running for Wagner in Junior Varsity (4K)wasGradyBartunekandCooperSlaba.Grady Bartunek crossed the finish line in First Place with an outstanding time of 15:07 and Cooper Slaba came in Second with a time of 16:41. Both boys ran a great race.

Running for the girl’s Junior Varsity (4K), Wagner had Taya Stone, Braelyn Jones, and Ty’Shay Medicine Bear. Placing for Wagner and coming in Second Place was Taya Stone with a great time of 18:36. Next to cross the finish line for Wagner was Braelyn Jones who came in Fifth Place with a 19:21.

Wagner has a great group of young athletes this year. The four boys who ran for the middle school race (1.25 miles) were Camden Wilch, Atreyu Almaguer, Wyatt Havranek, and Mason Tjeerdsma. Coming in 6th Place was Wyatt Havranek, and in 9th Place was Mason Tjeerdsma. These boys all ran well.

Wagner also had four girls run in the middle school run at Gregory; Braylyn Drapeau, Layla Podzimek, Clarah Soukup, and Ameerah Zephier. PlacingforthisracewasLaylaPodzimek,Ameerah Zephier, and Clarah Soukup.

This was a great race for the Wagner Runners andwelookforwardtoournextmeetonSeptember 8th in Scotland, SD.
