WAGNER COMMUNITY SCHOOL

New Staff Spotlight: Sydney Dvorak
By

Wagner Community School welcomes new middle school teacher, Sydney Dvorak, for the 2024-2025 school year. Sydney will be teaching 5th and 6th grade communication arts. Sydney is originally from Wagner/Pickstown. After graduating from college with her teaching degree she moved to Norman, OK where she taught for the past three years. Sydney had taught third, seventh, and eighth grade while teaching in Oklahoma.

When Sydney was in elementary school at WCS, she would spend many nights after school in her grandmother’s classroom (longtime WCS teacher, Darlene Dvorak). While spending time in her classroom, Sydney could often be found playing school. Even at home, Sydney would be found with a teacher’s edition book in her hands forcing her younger sisters to be her students. It is through those experiences that Sydney’s love for teaching first began.

When asked what made Sydney want to become a part of the WCS team, she said growing up here, the Wagner school has always been a good community and there is not another school that compares to it. For this school year, Sydney is most looking forward to building relationships with her students to help make a positive impact on their lives. Her goals for the school year are to get more involved with both WCS activities as well as in the Wagner community. Sydney and her boyfriend, Bo St Clair have two dogs, Saige and Luke. Sydney is the daughter of Boyd and Jenni Dvorak and the granddaughter of Darlene and Richard Dvorak and John and Margaret Johnson. She also has her younger sisters, JaCee Dvorak and Maesa and her husband, Stetson Eschenbaum. In her free time, Sydney enjoys working out, coaching nutrition clients, making logos, and being home on the ranch. Her two favorite books are Atomic Habits by James Clear and Can’t Hurt Me by David Goggins. As Sydney was a very active 4-H member of the Charles-Mix County 4-H Club, she is looking forward to giving back and helping the organization now that she is home. One item on Sydney’s bucket list is to travel to Greece, as she loves history.

Welcome home to WCS, Sydney. We hope you have an amazing year!
