Carter Smejkal

One of this week’s featured WCS seniors is Carter Smejkal. Carter is the son of Shawn and Donna Smejkal. During his high school years at Wagner Community School, Carter has been involved in several extra-curricular activities including FFA (four years), football (one year), journalism (two years), National Honor Society (two years), the high school play (four years), stats (three years), Student Council (four years), and track (three years).

Carter’s favorite class is Metals 2 and favorite teacher is Evan Papousek. His best memory from high school would be winning a FFA Ag Business competition. Carter’s favorite quote comes from Inky Johnson who said, “When talent meets talent, talent is no longer enough.” After graduation, Carter plans to attend college at South Dakota State University to major in Business and Marketing.

Deshawn Sully

Another WCS seniors that is featured this week is Deshawn Sully. Deshawn is the son of Bethany Sully. Extracurricular activities that Deshawn has participated in during his high school years include basketball (one year) and JAG (two years).

Deshawn’s advice to underclassmen would be “do your homework.” His freshman year was his best memory from high school. Math is Deshawn’s favorite class. After graduation, Deshawn plans to find a job that he enjoys and work his way up through the ranks.
