Education:
A graduate of Wagner High School Share a little bit about yourself:
I am married to Jim and we have three adult children and four grandchildren. I enjoy spending time with my grandchildren, camping and tending to my flower gardens.
As a member of Wagner Communities That Care, what facility/entity do you represent? How many years have you worked there/been in this position?
I am the Mayor for the City of Wagner and have proudly served our community for the past 16 months.
What inspired you or why are you excited to be a part of the Wagner Communities That Care coalition and their efforts?
The youth are our future! Families are important! I strongly support the efforts of educating our youth to become strong, healthy and successful adults. I want to be part of the path to their success and give them support in any way I can. I want be able to give any one every opportunity to seek help either from a professional, an adult or friend, who has knowledge that will guide them down the right path when faced with the many issues in today’s world. I want others to know they are not alone in life and that others cares. I have seen to many families torn apart by violence, drugs, alcohol and suicide at an alarming rate. I want to be a part of the support system for our future for a better life.
What unique contributions do you contribute to the coalition?
The willingness to make a difference, even if it’s only in one person’s life! We have all, at one point in our lives, had something happen we didn’t think we could get through, but we did, and learned from it. Everyone has knowledge to share from their own life’s lessons.
Why do you think Wagner CTC efforts are important to our community?
In today’s society, everyone is faced with many challenges, obstacles and tough choices. Even though these can be stressful to handle at times, I believe CTC’s activities, within the school and the community, will give our families and/or individuals, a good place to start to look for help in whatever aspect of life they are needing. You do not need to go down the road of life alone, there is ALWAYS someone there willing to help or listen.
