Wagner Citizens invite South Dakota DOT Transportation Board to hold next meeting in Wagner!

For more information contact Gerrit Juffer 605-491-1344 Sharon Haar 605-384- 5122 Gerrit Juffer and retired Mayor and Council member Sharon Haar invited the South Dakota DOT Transportation commissioners to hold their next meeting in Wagner on Thursday, March 30th.

They asked the commissioners to do so via the DOT Teleconference meeting this morning at 9:10 am “We invited them to hold their state meeting right here in Wagner. What better way for them to see what the community is dealing with concerning the 4-lanes vrs. the 2-lane with turning lane issue. Yankton DOT Commissioner Bruce Cull recently hosted a similar commission meeting in Yankton. This is a great opportunity to showcase our community and for the SD DOT Transportation Board to see first hand what is going on,” said Gerrit Juffer.

Sharon Haar added, “We extend the welcome mat out for the DOT Transportation Board to come visit our wonderful community and also discuss the issues surrounding the future of Highway 46 through Wagner. As a former farm equipment dealer located at 645 East Hwy 46 in Wagner, I am aware first hand of the issues concerning over-wide loads when driving on 4-lanes and 2-lanes with a turning lane.”

Gerrit and Sharon both expressed optimism that the SD DOT Transportation Board would take them up on their offer to showcase Wagner and the surrounding area.
