AARP CHAPTER 962

November 17, 2021 Minutes

The AARP Chapter 962 meeting was held on Tuesday, November 17, 2021 at 12:30 p.m. at the Park View Villa, Wagner, SD.

Vice-President, Virginia Petrik opened the meeting with all reciting the Pledge of Allegiance. Present were 6 members: Roy King, Virginia Petrik, JoEllen Carda, Sandy Swatek, Darlene Rysavy and Mary Ann Deurmier. Darlene Rysavy joined AARP today. Also present was Dave Berguist from Verdigre, NE. Roy and Dave played their guitars and sang several songs after lunch.

Roy King took over the meeting and gave the treasurer’s report with a balance of $339.65. The bill of $50.00 was paid for the ad on joining AARP. JoEllen has $17.75 in the Bingo fund after collection of w¬¬$1.50 today. We are waiting to hear back if we can play Bingo at the Good Samaritan Center in Wagner and Lake Andes. Everyone should keep track of their volunteer hours. JoEllen will send out Birthday cards.

Discussion was on where to go on a trip in December. Roy and Mary Ann will check on some trips and get more information. Mary Ann mentioned if anyone has been to Nora, SD for the “Christmas in Nora” Roy King will check to see if he can drive the ROC bus to take us or we will take cars. Will let all of you know where we are going.

Next meeting is on Tuesday, December 21, 2021 after having lunch at 12:15 p.m. This is our Christmas Party, everyone is invited to bring a $1.00 gift exchange. We will play bingo. We might have some music with Roy and if Dave can come again, too. Anyone is welcomed to come and enjoy our Christmas party and have fun or join AARP.
