Call to Order
- Lucy Leines called meeting to order 12:16
Welcome Guests
- Macy Bowl: Casa rep — Marketing associate. Advocates for children who need support. As a volunteer, you will be thoroughly trained and well supported by professional staff at CASA to assist you through each case.
Shout Outs
- Craig Krsnak gave a big ‘thank you’ to Juffer’s Inc. and Becky Brunsing for helping out on Crazy days. They helped make the root beer floats for the event.
- Amanda Bechen complemented those who are keeping the plant so beautiful looking on and near Main Street.
- Michele Juffer admired Choteau Creek Brewing for doing a tremendous job with their business. Many people in and around Wagner are congratulating the great job they are doing.
Lisa Schoenfelder responded with a thank you and that she could not do it without the friendliness from the locals.

- Mike wasn’t in attendance at this week’s meeting. Report will be given next month.
Labor Day Update
- Todd Johannasen, LDC member, if the Chamber will still be honoring their $5,000 request to help out with this year’s Labor Day.
- Labor Day Weekend Events are listed on their website and on posters around Wagner

Wagner Area Growth Update: Michele Juffer
- Still deciding if we need to get the Wagner Fire Department to have sidewalks washed before Labor Day.
- A total of 12 gallons of ice cream was served at Crazy Days. The week-long event had great turnouts!
- ‘Thank you’ to those who participated in the City Wide Rummage.
- The Cancer Walk had a great display of fireworks at the Wagner Lake.
- Farmer’s Market start date Friday, August 13.
- Family Fun night at the Wagner pool to raise money for the Pool fund Wednesday, August 11, 6-7:30pm
- C&B Operations of Wagner are wanting to volunteer their time to projects that need to be done in the area from now until Labor Day. If interested, contact Joe Blaha.
- South Dakota Department of Tourism is offering customer service training to local businesses interested.
- A book group is meeting to discuss the book, 13 Ways to Kill a Community. Contact Michele for more information.
- Directory Committee: The committee has decided to do a trifold to list Chamber businesses. They are hoping the Wagner Chamber and City of Wagner website to have a direct link to Chamber businesses. QR codes will available in the future to give individuals a quick link to Wagner business websites
605 Unity Jam - Artwork: Amanda Bechen
- The Wagner Chamber offered to sponsor some artwork for the night of Friday, September 3.
- Things still needed: An organization wanting to sell food at the event.
- Artists will be there at the event to talk to individuals about their art.
- Food, drink and entertainment will be available during the event.
Crazy Days - Craig Krsnak
- Appreciated the businesses that helped out and also the committee members to make Crazy Days such a success. It was a great turnout!
Open Discussion
- Gerrit Juffer asked Chris Monroe, Manager at North Point Recreation Area, how camping spots are filling up? Monroe replied that not North Point or Randall Creek are completely filled each weekend but also the smaller campsites surrounding the North Point Area.
- Jeff Doom asked Chamber members to represent the group at the City Meeting on the 23rd to help approve of the painted buffalo statue. They are hoping to get it placed in Wagner.
