Wagner Chamber of Commerce Monthly Meeting Minutes Monday, August 8, 2022 noon Two Spurs Call to Order - Lucy Leines, President, began meeting at 12:15pm Welcome Guests - CASA guests Shout Outs! - Thank you to Lavender Lane & Stems and Cells for putting together the Crazy Days Event!
- Thank you Mike Frei for watering and taking care of the beautiful flowers on Main Street.
- Mike Frei: Congratulations to the 16U baseball team for taking second. The team won the sportsmanship award for the entire league.
- Marla: Platte Killer Tomatoes playing their 2nd round of the state tournament at Cadwell Park in Mitchell.
Approval of Minutes - First, Gerrit Juffer - Second, Jeff Doom - Approved Approval of Financial Report - Start of month $37,846.80 - Two Spurs Food for meeting, Annual Insurance payment - End of the month $35,759.14 - First, Jeff Doom - Second, Michele Juffer Masters Walleye Circuit - Mike Frei reached out to the Circuit and brought this event to our area. This is an amazing opportunity for our community since this event will bring in many fisherman and countless spectators to our community - The event will be held at Lake Francis Case on August 25-26, 2023 CASA (Mitchell Office) - The Mitchell Casa office spoke on behalf of the Mitchell Office.
- Court Appointed Special Advocates: Aims to ensure permanent, nurturing home for every abused, and/or neglected child by providing a trained volunteer to advocate for them in the court system - The Mitchell Office currently serves 9 counties and 94 children - Requirements: 5 weeks of training and from there you’re sworn in by judge and from there you can volunteer - Volunteers are need! If you are interested in volunteering please contact a SD CASA rep - If you can’t volunteer or know someone who would like to volunteer, you are welcome to donate!

Crazy Days & Customer Appreciation - The event was great! Thank you to all those who participated from local businesses!

Community Closet - ROCS office is taking over Community Closet and Ribbon Cutting planned…TODAY right after Monday meeting Farmer’s Market - Hoping to have Farmer’s Market next year - If you are wanting to help please let Lucy or Michele know!
Healthy Hometowns (contact Michele Juffer or Michelle Olson if you want to get involved) Gala Event - Possible date for February Feeding SD - Third Wednesday of every month Wagner Swimming Pool Fundraiser - Be on the lookout for more events in the future!
Group Discussion - The city will be taking out 15 trees at the Wagner Lake before Labor Day; if you would like to help pick up branches, please reach out - Also, if you are wanting security for your business, please reach out to Michael Petit or consider having security cameras for your business installed - Labor Day is just around the corner! Please be aware of the area around you that needs tidying up! Businesses and sidewalks especially!
