The November Chamber Meeting was held at the Boys & Girls Club on November 19.

Welcome Guests: Lynette and Ashley from CASA. LDC members.

Shout Outs: Linda Soukup, the flower pot in front of Kelsey’s office. Laura and Lucy for filling in for Rachel while she was gone. Linda Foos and the school for being in Washington DC for receiving their JAG award.

Approval of Minutes: First: Patti, Second: Leah.

LDC Financial Report: had an awesome year. The events went well for the most part. The dance is still a hard event for them as the interest in dwindling down. They had to update the electrical box by Fousek’s for the campers for the midway. The Chamber board discussed splitting the committee’s remaining cost of $1350. Motion made by Jeff to give the LDC $650 to pay a portion of the electrical repairs. Second by Linda. Motion approved. New members this year are Landon Nedved, Eric Cimpl and Tiffany Hrdlicka.

Christmas Light Fundraiser: last year’s fundraiser didn’t have the greatest turn out. We did not schedule an event this year. We are thinking we will hold off on a fundraiser for now. We will make a plan to do something early next year if we decide it is needed.

Santa in Wagner: Pictures with Santa on December 1st at Wagner Theater from 1:00 through 3:00. Patti Frei will donate the popcorn bags again this year for the popcorn. You can bring three cans of food or a $5 donation to get a free photo and print with Santa.

Holiday decorating contest: Kelsey is looking at involving the community and doing a residential contest. She would give shout outs on social media. Holiday bucks are now on sale at the three banks in town. If a business wants to give them to employees, you can contact Patti to get the discounted rate.

Parade of Lights: Sip Homestead Farms, LLC , C&B Operations and Custom Touch are putting together a parade of lights. It would be the evening of the 14th of December. There will be a map of the route available.

Ladies Shopping Night: Will be Thursday, November 29th from 4-8 at the Wagner Theater and a few other businesses are staying open. There are lots are vendor set up and it is always a good time.

CASA Presentation: Court Appointed Special Advocates. They provide a volunteer to children who are in the custody of the state. They are the voice for the children within the court system. They just started serving Charles Mix county in September. The program was started in Washington in 1977 by a judge who felt a need for volunteers to go meet with the children and be a voice for them within the court system. They are looking for volunteers in the area. The volunteers come from all different backgrounds. The volunteer would meet with the child regularly and report back to the judge. If are interested in becoming a volunteer or more information you can visit www.mitchellcasa.org .

Elections will be at next month’s meeting.

Dues are due by January 1st.

We need to update the signers for the Chamber Bucks account. Motion made by Jeff to remove Linda Soukup and add Patricia Frei and Mike Frei. Second by Kelsey. Motion approved.
