The Wagner boys basketball team earned its eighth win of the season Tuesday night with a hard-fought 68-60 victory over Miller.

Wagner led for much of the second half but found itself battling from behind late in the fourth quarter before closing out the win at the free-throw line. Jesse Zephier knocked down key free throws down the stretch, and Carlos Galindo added a crucial put-back basket to help seal the victory.

Zephier led all scorers with 26 points and also contributed five rebounds and five assists. Galindo followed with 20 points, while Ky Arpan added 12 points and pulled down seven rebounds. The win improves Wagner’s record to 8-2 on the season as the boys continue conference play. The Wagner JV boys basketball team used pressure defense to earn a 37-33 win over Miller on Tuesday night.

Wagner’s full-court press created numerous turnovers early, helping the Red Raiders build a 17-6 lead by halftime. The second half saw both teams find their offensive rhythm, with Miller making several runs, but Wagner maintained its composure down the stretch to hold on for the win.

Jackson Woods led the JV squad with 12 points. Payne Poetry added seven points, while AJ Kotab chipped in six. Ron Knudsen finished with five points, Colton Zephier scored three, and Jakhi Tiger, Avery Medicine Bear, and Kameron Chrans each added two.
