By
WAGNER BOYS & GIRLS CLUB MUSIC MAKERS VIOLIN PROGRAM

The Wagner Boys & Girls Club Music Makers Violin Program performed Christmas music on Sunday, December 15th at the Good Samaritan Home and then joined the Community Christmas Caroling event at the Methodist Church. Six Club kids have been enjoying the instruction of Ms. Esther Meader for the past year. Esther is the teacher from The Sound of Treble String Studio in Mitchell and also directs the Lyricwood Cadets Program, the feeder program for Dakota Wesleyan University.

The Music Makers Program is designed to inspire young people to produce music, and to create their life’s soundtrack.Young people need positive outlets for creative self-expression, and many have a keen interest in the performing arts. Musical study develops critical thinking, self-discipline, self-esteem, self-confidence and teamwork. The goal of MusicMakers National Music Education Program is to promote young people’s natural love of music and to increase their appreciation of this art form while building their skills so they can express themselves using instruments.
