The Wagner boys basketball team had their best performance of the season Tuesday night defeating a very good O’Neill team. The Raiders fell behind 19-18 after the first period and trailed by 9 at half time 40-31. Wagner outscored the Eagles 16-5 in the third period and led 47-45 heading into the fourth quarter. The boys expanded their lead to as much as 10 in the fourth quarter and held on to win the game 63-57. Parker Petry had a big night with 19 points and 9 rebounds. Carter Cournoyer had his third consecutive double double with 13 points and 12 rebounds. Joey Cournoyer scored 8 points, had 9 rebounds, and 8 assists. Brady Cournoyold er went a perfect 4 for 4 from the field and scored 8 points, he also grabbed 4 rebounds. Preston McFayden and Carlos Galindo each scored 6 points, and Jesse Zephier scored 3 points and had 3 assists. The boys record is now 5-4, they travel to Burke on Thursday .
Wagner loses JV game to O’Neill
The Wagner boys lost to O’Neill in JV on Tuesday night, they boys fell behind 16-6 after the first period and trailed 2412 at half time. O’Neill scored 22 second half points and held Wagner to 12 and went on to win the game 47-24. Javian Pesicka led the team with 7 points. Treyson Zephier scored 4, Frank Soukup, Brady Cournoyer, and Dominic Doom each scored 3, Ky Arpan and Winston Little Moon each scored 2.
Wagner C Team Loses to O’Neill The Raider C team fell to O’Neill on Tuesday night by a final score of 43-31. The game was tied 8-8 after the first quarter and Wagner trailed 22-14 at the half. O’Neill doubled up on the boys in the third quarter outscoring Wagner 12-6 which made the score 34-20 heading into the fourth period. The Raiders scored 11 points and held O’Neill to 9 in the final frame. Dominic Doom scored 10 points to lead the team in scoring, Kobe Drapeau added 8, Tyson Hare scored 3 and Winston Little Moon, AJ Kotab, and Avery Medicine Bear each scored 2.
