The Wagner Boys Basketball Team took on Ethan on Thursday night at Wagner. The boys started off string leading 14-9 after the first period and 32-22 at the half. Ethan opened up the second half on a 5-0 run and eventually took a 41-36 lead into the fourth quarter. Wagner battled back and cut the lead to 2 points with 1.2 second left. The boys could not tie the game and lost by a final score of 48-45. Joey Cournoyer Jr. had a double double, he scored 12 points and grabbed 13 rebounds. Parker Petry added 10 points, Preston McFayden and Carter Cournoyer each scored 8, Carlos Galindo added 5 and Jesse Zephier scored 2. The Raiders outrebounded Ethan 32-27 and shot 41% from the field compared to Ethans 38%. Wagner falls to 2-2 on the season, Ethan remains a perfect 5-0. Wagner will be back in action December 29 against Avon at home.

Wagner JV Defeats Ethan

The Wagner JV boys won a close game against Ethan on Thursday Night. The Raiders quickly gained a lead and doubled Ethans score in the first quarter leading 16-8. Ethan scored 18 second quarter points and cut the lead to 29-26 heading into the half. The Rustlers out scored Wagner again in the third quarter, tying the game at 39 heading into the final frame. Wagner make a bunch of free throws down the stretch and won the game 54-47. Javian Pesicka could not miss a shot throughout the game, he led all scorers with 24 points. Frank Soukup scored 9, Carlos Galindo and Brady Cournoyer each scored 8, Leon Fields added 3 and Ky Arpan 2. The Wagner JV improves to 3-1 on the season. The JV will play Avon on Friday December 29.

Wagner Plays First C Game

The Wagner C team got their first game action on Thursday against Ethan. The young Raider team played hard for 4 quarters and all of the boys got some valuable playing time. Wagner lost the C game 50-18. Cruise Koupal led the team with 6 points, Dominic Doom added 4, Steven Peters, Gannon Shields, Payne Petry and Damien Red Lightning all scored 2 points for the Raiders. The Wagner boys C team will be back in action on Friday December 29 against Avon.
