The Wagner Red Raiders picked up a big win in Mount Vernon Friday night. The season record now sits at 5-1.

The Raiders won by a score of 40 to 6. Defeating Mount Vernon for the first time in school history.

Offensively the Red Raiders were led by senior tailback Jhett Breen who accounted for 6 todays touchdowns. 5 on the ground and one through the air. The senior had 216 rushing yards on the night! All of this of course behind the offensive line who had another solid showing. That group again is led by Seniors Braxton Knudson and Tim Bouza. Juniors Parker Petry and Kahle Hill. Rounding out the group is a sophomore Kobe Drapeau.

The defense for the Red Raider had another excellent showing. Forcing 3 fumbles and holding MVP 4-of-14 on third downs. The defense turned MVP over on downs inside the 10 yard line twice in the contest. Early on in the third quarter MVP had a first down from the Red Raider 12 yard line. The Raiders were able to get them to a 4th and 1 attempt, which Mount Vernon was able to gain the yard. This gave Mount Vernon first and goal inside the Raider 1 yard line. The Red Raiders defense did not fold and kept them out of the end-zone 4 plays in a row from the 1! A truly unbelievable goal line stand. The kind of effort coaches dream about!
