The Wagner American Legion Auxiliary 2023 Girl’s State representative was Jenny Barnett. She attended the annual Girl’s State event held at the University of South Dakota (USD) campus in Vermillion. Girl’s State is a week-long event that began the week of May 29th. At the October monthly meeting of the Wagner American Legion Auxiliary, Jenny and her family were invited to the supper held before each monthly meeting. During the Auxiliary meeting, Jenny gave a brief speech about how her week went and experiences at Girl’s State. She thanked the Auxiliary for sending her to Girl’s State and informed them that her experience made a difference in potential college majors. She may have a career in politics or government one day because of the eye-opening experience she had while at Girl’s State.
