I am back in the office and ready to serve our area veterans. My office hours are 8:00 to 4:30 on Monday and Tuesday and 8:00 to 12:00 on Wednesday. According to the South Dakota Department of Veterans Affairs, there are currently 590 veterans in Charles Mix County. I know I have not visited with many of you so please take the time to step into my office when you are at the courthouse or call and set up an appointment. There are many benefits that veterans are not aware of that could potentially help them with healthcare, disabilities, education benefits and a long list of other benefits that they may not be aware of.

In 2020, the VA spent over 6 million dollars on Charles Mix County veterans. $2,340,000 of the expenditures were compensation and pension payments that went directly into the pockets of our veterans. Another $4,000,000 was spent on health care and education benefits for our veterans.
