Plans are underway for this year's Veterans Day Program which will be held Wednesday, November 9 at 2:45 p.m., at the Avon School Gym with a special one-act play presentation by American Legion Auxiliary.

War Letters is a one act play in which the audience gets a look into the lives of a mother, a wife, and a daughter of a U.S. soldier deployed in Vietnam. Their lives and emotionsunfoldthroughout a series of letters that are exchangedwiththeirsoldier, as this is their only form of communication available. For many of our older war veterans and their families, this was their reality.

The play will feature Mary Hurd (American Legion Auxiliary President,) Sarah Swier (Jr. Auxiliary Member and AHS Student Body President,) and Addy Lavelle (Avon 6th grader who is itching to get on stage.) Abby Gretschmann (Junior Auxiliary Member) will be running spotlight. It isdirectedbyLorettaKnodel (Auxiliary Member).
