VACCINE COMES TO TOWN
As many people know, COVID is and has been a very big problem in our everyday lives. At the end of 2020 there were two available vaccines, Pfizer/BioNTech and the Moderna. Since the state controls what vaccine is sent where, Avon does not know which they will be receiving. Avon will receive their share of the vaccine somewhere between two weeks and two months. Here at Avon School, just the staff will be available to receive a vaccine, but they will have to go to a clinic to get their shot. Most people will go to Tyndall, but Wagner and other surrounding clinics may have them available.
Senior Ally Hamilton received the shot on December 24 because she works in the nursing home. It was optional but she decided to get it! Ally said, “It felt like a normal shot, and I had no side effects at all.” She will go in for the second dose in the first week of February.
