On Wednesday, June 26, the Post 7319 teeners traveled to Salem to take on the Cubs. As usual, the evening would start with the 14U game. Salem had one more hit than Wagner, but they would end up with 14 more runs as they would win by a score of 14-0 as they used 11 walks and 10 errors to come away with the victory. Ethan Gabel was the pitcher of record. He gave a valiant effort but would give up six runs, only one being earned, on zero hits and four walks. Avery Medicine Bear, Colton Zephier, and Landon Ronfeldt all pitched in this contest. It stands to reason that in a game where your defense commits ten errors that many runs will be unearned and that was the case here, as all of the runs given up by those three pitchers were unearned. Beau Otte and Steven Peters collected two hits each and that was all the offense Wagner could muster.
Frank Soukup toed the rubber for the final game and once again pitched very well. He went 5.2 innings. He gave up one earned run on one hit while walking four and striking out 15 Cubs in the 10-3 Wagner victory. Preston McFayden relieved Soukup and pitched 1.1 innings giving up two unearned runs on two hits.
Soukup also did quite well at the plate as he went 4 for 5 with one RBI and two runs scored. Brady Cournoyer had three singles with an RBI and a run scored. Malakai Segura improved his slugging percentage as he doubled and tripled. He would score two runs and knock in three. Dominic Doom drew three walks and scored one run.
