By
On Monday, June 30, Wagner’s Post 7319 14U teener team traveled up to Alexandria for a twin bill and came away with two wins. In the first game Tyler Ronfeldt took the ball and gave us three innings of work. He allowed four runs, though none of them would be of the earned variety, on one hit, one walk and three hit batters, while striking out five. Austin DeVries pitched one inning and allowed three runs, one earned, on no hits and a walk and two hit batters. Offensively for Wagner, Colton Zephier and Connor Gabel each reached base in every plate appearance as Zephier was 3 for 3 with a walk and a run scored while Gabel was 2 for 2 with a walk, a run scored, and three RBI. Ethan Gabel had a double, an RBI, and two runs scored. Mason Milk singled and drove in a run. Jacob Kotab singled and scored twice. DeVries singled, scored once, and knocked two runs in. Cooper Gene Kuhlman added one RBI for Wagner as we would win by a count of 13-7. In the second game, Connor Gabel got the ball and wouldn’t give it up as he went all five innings giving up just one earned run on one hit while walking three and striking out four as Wagner would win this one by a count of 5-1. At the plate, Wagner was led by Kotab and Jackson Woods, who each collected two hits with Woods scoring a run and Kotab driving one in. Kuhlman, Zephier, the Gabel boys, Ruger Loeffler, and Cooper Slaba all collected a hit apiece with Zephier’s being a double.
