The Avon Swim team held a Football Tailgate supper Friday, September 8th from 5 p.m. until 7 p.m. before the Avon vs. Gayville -Volin home football game. They served walking tacos, homemade desserts and drinks. It was a free-will donation. Coach Becky Haenfler and the swim team parents appreciate Bryce Voigt for donating the chips for the walking tacos. It was a very successful fundraiser, the team raised almost half of their goal. The teams next fundraiser will be coming up yet this month; they will be selling cookie dough. The Avon Swim Team is fundraising to purchase new swimsuits for the 2024 season. They are looking to raise $3,500 before their season next summer. There will be 58 swimmers on next year’s team. They range in age from 3 years old to 18 years old. According to Coach Haenfler, this will be the biggest and strongest team she has coached. Avon has had a very strong swim team, winning the league the last three years and they hope to continue their success.
