SUMMER READING PROGRAM OFFERS BARNES & NOBLE INCENTIVE

Motivation can sometimes push students to work beyond their norm. The Summer Reading Program offered (for the fourth year in a row) the incentive of a Sioux Falls trip to Barnes & Noble if they read eight books and filled out a sheet for the Summer Reading Program. They also had to fill out graphic organizers and do projects for each book.

As a result, seventeen 5th and 6th graders went with Mrs. Becky Haenfler on September 29 to Barnes & Noble in Sioux Falls. The trip consisted of a tour of the bookstore, a free book, a free Starbucks, and lunch at the park.

Mrs. Haenfler said, “My favorite part of the trip is getting to see some of the kids see what a big bookstore is like for the first time.”
