STUDENTS LEARN VALUE OF POSITIVE THINKING
Resilience is defined as the capacity to recover quickly from difficulties. On Wednesday, February 2, grades seven through twelve had the opportunity to listen to a speaker talk to them about resiliency. Ryan Dannen, a sergeant in the army, presented information to help kids deal with the emotional baggage associated with growing up. He offered advice. “Don’t stay silent.” “Take a moment to think about the things that affect you negatively.” “Say things from a positive perspective.”
Mrs. Connie Gretschmann had the opportunity to attend the assembly with her class. She said, “I liked how he pointed out the fact to not see everything from the negative side, and to keep a journal and write something positive down everyday so you start thinking more positively.”
