Loretta Knodel will be directing her fourth one-act play this year. She has twelve kids participating, (seniors) Haleigh Tjeerdsma, Rachael DeJong, Haden Cahoy, and Kiara Driesen; (junior) Kley Heumiller; (sophomores) Noah Watchorn and Caleb Wallinga; (freshmen) Ashley Tolsma, Kaeli Wallinga, Jaydon Driesen, Cody Sassaman, and Erica Cahoy.

This year they will go to Mitchell on January 25 for regions to perform “The Empty Chair” by Tim Kelley (permission to produce it from Pioneer Drama Service). Knodel said, “This year's one-act gives an opportunity to many actors to have a monologue.” If the crew makes it past regions, they will head out to Rapid City the first part of February to compete in the State One-Act. “In order for us to be successful, we need to really develop our characters,” Knodel said.
