STATE ORAL INTERP 2019 RESULTS

This is the moment; the one any Oral Interp Student would be looking forward to all season long. It is State Oral Interp Weekend! The moment when all of the student's hard work and time put into this activity comes to culmination. There is no turning back at this point. The Wagner Oral Interp Team has done all that they could to prepare for their speeches. They have worked hard and it is finally time to let all that hard work pay off.

The State Interp Meet started off on Friday December 6, with The Reader's Theater Category. Wagner gave a wonderful performance with their piece, "Keeping Score." This included Mackenzie Roberts, Kallen Kafka, Michelle Soukup and Daniel Soukup. Following the afternoon session, The Class A Storytelling took place that evening. Mackenzie Roberts gave an amazing interpretation of "The Story of Esther." With her amazing storytelling voice and her ability to captivate the audience Mackenzie was very deserving of the Superior Ranking she received.

Saturday, there were four performances for Class A. Wagner Started the morning with Ciara Nelson performing in The Non-O category with "Our Mission is to report these Horrors of War with Accuracy and without Prejudice." Ciara performed amazingly bringing home a superior rating. Also, that morning, the duet of Kallen Kafka and Michelle Soukup performed with their rendition of "Trapped." Michelle and Kallen had the audience laughing the entire time and had a great performance. The afternoon session started with Ciara Nelson in the poetry category performing a collection of poems from "Courage, Daring Gutsy Poems for Girls." With her poise and beautiful voice, Ciara's confidence in her speaking was amazing and this showed when she was awarded a superior ranking. Next, came Kallen Kafka in the humorous category. He performed "Radio Days At Xyborg High." Kallen had a wonderful performance that kept the audience laughing.

With the superior rankings, the Wagner Oral Interp Team was awarded The Team Excellence Plaque. This is an honor to receive. The students should be very proud of their 2019 Oral Interp Season. The coaches, Mieke Slaba and Lori Kokes are truly proud of all of the Oral Interp students this season.
