STAFF MEMBER OF THE WEEK: CONNIE GRETSCHMANN
Jolly Roger staff members Hadlee and Irelynn took the time to interview our very first staff member of the week, Mrs. Gretschmann, the 8-12 grade math teacher. The first question we asked her was “what is it like being a role model to your students? to which Mrs. Gretschmann replied, “I hope that I'm a good role model, and that I challenge my students to be the best they can be. Next, we asked what the most interesting part of her job would be. Mrs. Gretschmann responded, “Seeing the kids everyday, and seeing how their faces light up once they understand a concept.” For our next question, we asked her about the hardest part of her job, to which she said, “Keeping my desk clean because of all the papers I have to grade.” After that, we asked her to give some advice to her students. Mrs. Gretchmann advises students to “Work hard, stay organized, follow directions, and just work to be the best you can be.” When we asked her about her favorite student, she laughed and assured us, “Everybody! I like them all!” Mrs. Gretschmann informed us that she has been working here at Avon since Mrs. Fathke was a senior, which we thought was an interesting fact. For our final question, we asked her, “how do you spend your time outside of school? She responded, “with my family, shopping with my sisters, and baking every once in a while.” Congratulations Mrs Gretschmann! You deserve it!
