St. Marks Catholic Church in Lake Andes had their annual fall dinner October 8th. The menu for the evening was the same as it has been for the last 50 years featuring their famous Swiss steak. Mashed potatoes, gravy, corn, salads, rolls, bars, pies and other homemade desserts provided by church members were also served. The wonderful thing about the fall dinner is that everyone comes together to make the dinner a success. Members that do not or are not able to attend church regularly bring homemade goodies and come out and help cook. Everyone has a great time visiting.
The altar society oversees the planning of the annual event. This year’s chairmen were Jeanne Payer and Margaret Reiser. The ladies tried something new this year, there was live music provided by the Good Memories Band during the dinner. The annual fall dinner was a great success, serving almost 300 dinners. The funds raised will help the youth group attend various church conferences. In the past years the youth of St. Marks Catholic Church have traveled to Missouri, Denver and Rochester for the conferences.
