Southeast Elite 11 Vermillion 1 On Tuesday night, the Southeast Elite traveled to Vermillion to take on the Vermillion Flamze. In the first game the Elite scored 5 runs in the top of the first. Emersyn Haenfler walked and then Harper Kracht, Brielle Voigt and Kensley DeVries all followed with singles. Raegan Brandt reached on an error and eventually scored the fifth run. In the 3rd inning, Lydia Lane walked, advanced to second on a groundout, and scored on a single by Leah DeWald. Brielle followed with a single scoring Leah. Kensley then singled to score Brielle. In the fifth inning, four consecutive singles by Leah, Harper, Brielle and Kensley resulted in 3 additional runs. Kensley picked up the win on the mound, going the distance striking out 4 and only giving up one run. The final score was 11-1 in favor of the Elite. Southeast Elite 15 Vermillion 2 In game two the Elite got off to another quick start. Leah singled and was driven in on a triple by Brielle. In the second, Ashley Soukup singled, Whitley Wolf and Emersyn walked and both were driven in by a single by Harper. They added one more in the 3rd when Brielle hit her second triple of the game and eventually scored on a wild pitch. In the fourth, they added 5 more runs when Leah singled, Harper walked, and both were driven in by a double by Brielle. The final scored was 15-2 in favor of the Elite. Harper went the distance striking out five in five innings of work. The wins bring the Elite’s record to 19-16. Southeast Elite 10 Freeman 8 On Wednesday night the Elite took on Freeman. In game one, the Elite quickly struck for two runs. Emersyn walked and was driven in by a double by Kensley. Brielle then singled scoring Brielle. The Elite then fell behind 4-2. The Elite tied the game in the second when Whitley, Macy, Lydia, Emersyn walked and were driven in by a triple by Leah. The Elite added 3 more runs and eventually won by a score of 10-8. Emersyn went the distance on the mound striking out five in five innings of work. Southeast Elite 11 Freeman 1 In game two, the Elite got off to another quick start. Emersyn and Leah singled and Emersyn scored on a single by Leah. Brielle then doubled scoring Kensley and Leah. In the second Stella Ratzlaff doubled. Macy Haynes and Lydia walked. Leah reached on an error that scored Stella. Brielle then hammered a 3-0 pitch to left field for a triple clearing the bases. The Elite added one more in the 3rd when Rowan Brandt singled and scored on a series of errors and passed balls. The Elite ended up prevailing 11-1 in a game shortened by lightening. Leah DeWald was on the hill and struck out two in two innings of work. The Elite’s record now stands at 21-16. The Elite travel to Wagner on June 10th for a double header.
