SESSION FOR SENIORS AT PARKVIEW
Are there senior citizens that you know in our community that would enjoy a nice night out on the town? If so, we have a great event coming to the Parkview Villa Apartments in December. The event will feature an evening filled with great “big band” music, a soup and sandwich supper, helpful information about services available for senior citizens, an “Open House”, a chance to socialize and at “no charge”. If you know of senior citizen who would enjoy this type of event, be certain to share this information with them so they can make plans to be a part of a great evening.
The “Session For Seniors At Parkview” will be held on Sunday, December 11 starting at 5:00 p.m. in the “Community Room” at the Parkview Villa Apartments, located next to the Wagner City Park and Boys and Girls Club. Phil and Friends will be the featured band for the evening and will be providing great music for all to enjoy. In addition to playing “Big Band” music they will also be playing a few Christmas favorites as well. The evening will also feature information about the services that are available from the new Lutheran Social Services program for our area, along with helpful information from the ROCS Program as well. Seniors will also get the chance to meet the “Senior Meals” Chef and the Program Manager and better understand how to become involved in the “Senior Meals” Program. A soup supper will also be held along with some great tasting sandwiches and cookies provided Subway of Wagner.
It is important to note that this event will provide the opportunity for everyone to socialize with people they may not have seen for awhile. Please note that “all seniors” in our community are encouraged to attend this event. An “Open House” for the Parkview Villa Apartment will also be held at the end of the program to allow anyone who is interested to to see what a one and two bedroom apartment looks like for future reference. This will be especially important for anyone who has been thinking about no longer wanting to keep up all the work that is involved in maintaining a home.
Finally, what is involved in attending this great evening? Just an interest and a phone call to reserve a spot at the table as there is only room for 50 people to attend. A call will help in the food preparation planning and best use of space. Contact Dana Sanderson at 605-491-0804 and let him know you want to attend and if you plan to bring a friend with you. There is “no cost for attending” the event, but a “free will” offering will be available with the money being given to the band as a way to thank them for providing the great music.
