SENIORS PARTICIPATE IN MOCK PRESIDENTIAL ELECTION
Avon’s US Government class is involved in a mock presidential election. According to government teacher Kris Cahoy, this is an opportunity for the senior class to run a campaign and organize their stances on issues in order to create a media promotion for their candidates. This month-long project started February 15 and ends on election day, March 15. All the grades will get to vote.
On March 10 there was a de-bate for the three presidential candidates in front of the entire high school. It gives the seniors hands-on experience to learn about the presidential election process. Election will take place on March 15.
Democratic candidate Haden Cahoy said, “The reason why I wanted to run for the mock election is because I like politics and listening to debates.”
