On Thursday September 28th the seniors and juniors tookatriptoMitchellforacareer fair. They started off the day by going to DWU where they got an opportunity to visit and ask about different colleges at their designated tables.AfterDWUtheyheaded tothefairgroundsanddid kind of the same thing, but there were more interactive activities, like they could play little minigames to win prizes such as T-shirts, hats, sunglasses, etc. They also gathered tickets if they were interactive and asked questions.Theticketsthatthey got, depending on how many they got, determined the prize they could get before they had to leave.

Then they headed to Pizza Ranch for lunch. During this time students had time to eat andinteractwithfriends.After they finished eating some students wenttoplayatthearcade inPizzaRanch,andsomemade aquicktriptoStarbucks.Next, the kids headed to Mitchell Tech for a tour of the college. Theyweresplitintotwogroups: seniors and juniors. The tour guide showed the students different classrooms and shop buildings and talked about what all consisted of attending Mitchell Tech. The tour alsoconsistedofshowingthe students how the students at Mitchell Tech learn to fix andworkonpowerlines.The Mitchell Tech students were harnessed to the power lines throwing a football around. Their teacher had come to talk to us and he told us that this helps them learn balance. After the tour at Mitchell Tech, the students headed back to Avon with newfound information of what college consists of.
