Spotlight
Alexis Vanderlei was born on May 23, 2008. Alexis’s parents are Amy and Craig Vanderlei and her siblings are Grace, Lila, Bree, and Jon. Alexis’s favorite subject is History because she likes to learn about our past so we don't repeat it. One of the most challenging tasks for Alexis as a senior is that she finally realizes that this is her last year, and she has to make the most of it. Some things that Alexis likes to do in her spare time include hanging out with friends and watching movies. There is one quote that Alexis lives by is, “I know my value. Anyone else's opinion doesn't really matter.”- Peggy Carter. Some of Alexis favorite activities to do while in high school include basketball and archery, but Alexis is also involved in many other activities as well. One memory that Alexis will always remember from her time at AHS is the people in the community and the supportive teachers. The atmosphere is amazing, and she will always remember all of the smiles. Alexis’ proudest moments at AHS include being selected to sing in Europe this summer and being able to compete in state sports. Alexis' role models are her parents because they have always told her the truth and only want the good things to happen for me. Alexis's future plans are to attend Black Hills State University and become a teacher. What Alexis is going to miss the most about AHS are all the kind faces and the support from the community
