MADDY HUITEMA
By
: Kate Swier
Madelynn Joy Huitema was born on September 27, 2005 to her mother Tena Weilenga and her father Tom Huitema. Madelynn says that her favorite subject in school is biology because, “it is a science that I really understand.” She says that the most challenging task this far through her senior year has been managing her time because she does not have any study halls. In her spare time Maddy enjoys attending rabbit shows and doing art projects. A quote that Maddy lives by is “I’d rather regret the things I’ve done than regret the things I haven’t done” by Lucille Ball. Maddy’s favorite high school activities are softball and band. One memory that Maddy will remember forever from high school is homecoming 2020 when Kindra was doing the worm during homecoming and hit her chin on the ground. Maddy’s proudest moment in life thus far is having a rabbit earn youth Holland Lop Best of Breed at a state show. Maddy’s biggest role model in her life is her mom, because of how hard working and supportive she is. Maddy says that Mr. Kuhlman has played a huge role in preparing her for life outside of AHS because of the challenging content in his class. After high school Maddy plans to attend college at Mitchell Tech and earn a degree to be a medical laboratory technician. One piece of advice that Maddy would give to underclassmen is: “cherish every moment, because it goes by fast.” If Maddy could change anything about her high school career she says that she’d be more involved and do more things that she was once scared to do. Maddy says that the thing she will remember most about high school is her class and how kind they were to one another.
