SENIOR LEGION TEAM COMES HOME WITH A WIN AGAINST CHAMBERLAIN

On Wednesday, July 2, the Post 11 Wagner Senior American Legion team traveled up to Chamberlain and came away with a 9-0 win.

Frank Soukup started on the hill and kept the host team at bay as he tossed 6.2 scoreless innings. He allowed just three hits while walking four, hitting one, and striking out nine. Malakai Segura came on to get a ground ball out to end the game.

Wagner got on the board right away as Soukup singled, stole second, and scored on a Carter Cournoyer single. Cournoyer would later score on a wild pitch.

In the second frame, we used two hit batsman, a walk, an error, some wild pitches and groundouts to score four more runs. Landon Mudder scored in the third to add a run, and in the 5th inning, Beau Otte came through with a bases loaded single to drive in two.

Soukup and Carter Cournoyer each had two hits on the evening and both scored twice with Cournoyer driving in a run. Otte and Octavian Kocer had the other two hits. We did use seven walks, three hit batsman and five Chamberlain errors to our advantage as well. Mudder scored twice while Segura, Otte, and Kocer each crossed the plate once.
