The wrestlers made the trip to Sioux Falls for the State Wrestling Tournament. Going into this tournament I felt they were all ready to go and had prepared the right way. It was all about showing up and putting together the best matches of the year. Over the three days of wrestling it was a long and emotional grind, it takes a lot to keep your head on straight and stay focused. All of the wrestlers handled the pressure well and wrestled hard. They all should be proud of the season that they had, with some falling short of their goals they need to keep their heads high and start working for the next season. Congratulations to Peyton and Britney on their State Titles. These girls are hard workers and the dedication they have for this sport is something special to be a part of. The seniors of the group Jackson Caba placing 5th and Tyler Tjeerdsma 6th. These two guys had a solid tournament and I felt they put together a few of the best matches of the season wrestling some of the top guys in the State. These guys have been a staple to this program and have nothing to hang their heads about. These guys will be missed and have been great leaders for all the young guys to look up to.
