Avon School Board held a special board meeting September 18th, where they tabled action on the resignation of Dakota Bodden, special education teacher, after two hour long executive sessions. Bodden had submitted his resignation at the previous school board meeting due to parents' complaints regarding his decisions in coaching activities. The board met in executive sessions with teachers and parents of special needs students. Following the sessions, they moved to table until the October meeting to give school board member Jeff Talsma time to visit with Bodden about possibly returning to teach. The board also plans to dicuss compensation for teachers and paraprofessionals at the October meeting for their extra duties.
