On Wednesday, April 28th, Bryan Slaba brought the meeting to order around 12:20pm with a ring of the bell. The Pledge of Allegiance was performed by the club, followed by a prayer by Rotarian/ Pastor Bill.

Bryan Slaba's ticket was drawn for the Queen of Hearts, and he picked the 10 of clubs. The pot is "around $640 take home", according to President Slaba.

Ken Cotton gave the membership minute, which consisted of educating the club on the history of the Rotary flag. It was adopted in 1929 at the Rotary Convention in Dallas, TX. It was flown for the first time in Kansas City, Missouri in January 1915. It has been flown in both the North Pole and the South Pole, as well as every Rotary convention.

Club announcements: Jeff Doom will be in charge of picking up meals in the month of May. The club was reminded to meet at the school for next week's meeting for the Rotary Scholars recognition. May 7th is the Community Cleanup, and Rotarians were urged to participate. Those interested should meet at the Armory Parking lot at 8:30 am.

Francis Doom then took the podium to formally induct Kara Frei as the newest member of the Wagner Rotary Club. Kara was nominated and sponsored by Rotarian Rachel Woods. The club joined in applause to welcome Kara.

Gerrit Juffer, the program chair for the week, introduced Tim Simonson, the Chief of Police for the Wagner Police Department. Tim gave a brief work history, including starting his career in Armour in 1989, and worked for the Douglas County Sheriff Dept before coming to Wagner almost 10-12 years ago. He spoke of the challenges that face our community, namely medical marijuana, the continued methamphetamine crisis, staffing issues on the department, and the addition of drug dogs to other agencies in the area. He also talked about issues that our nation is facing, and how they have affected his department. He took several questions and gave a very interesting program for the group.

The meeting closed with the club reciting the Four Way Test together.
