President Jordan Weber welcomed another smaller group of Rotarians to the weekly Rotary meeting on Wednesday, October 30th. There are still individuals harvesting, working with cattle, and finishing fall chores. Weber gave a blessing over the meal and the hands that had prepared it and asked for guidance for all the officers and the responsibilities we all have in our community.
There were no guests present and Song leader Gerrit Juffer went into leading “If You’re Happy and You Know It” and led us in all four verses. Membership Minute Chairperson Patty Frei spoke about Rotarians making up missed meetings. It is simple if you have a computer: 1. Visit the Programs and Make-Up Programs page. 2. Spend at least 30 minutes thoughtfully reviewing content you find on that page mindfully applying the Four-Way Test as you select content, review it, and spend time on our Rotary EClub One website. 3. Once you have spent 30 minutes reviewing content, request a Make-Up Confirmation. 4. In the spirit of Rotary, consider donating to Rotary EOne that would be equal to the price of your weekly Rotary meeting. Then request a copy of your meeting make-up be sent to your local Rotary club Secretary.
The money from this fund is used to support Rotary eClub Ones’ service projects, which occur around the globe.
Rotarian Frei also handed out anniversary certificates to Bryan Slaba for 17 years of being a Rotarian and to Ken Cotton for 32 years of being a Rotarian.
President Jordan also acted as the Sergeant at Arms and promptly fined his Dad Jerry Weber $2 for using scare tactics to make him be Sergeant for the day; $2 to Jeff Doom for calling in at the last minute that he couldn’t make the meeting; $2 to Margaret Doom and Tim Thaler for acting like they hadn’t seen each other in a long time; $2 to Tim for sitting with all the ladies and cackling right along with them; $1 each to each Rotarian that did NOT walk last week at the Wagner Lake for Polio Day; $2 to Scott McAdaragh and Bill Frei for not responding that they would miss the meeting; $2 to Craig for his vigorous stomping on the floor while singing the If you’re happy tune. Happy Fines came from Kathe Henke of $14 for her son who competed on Saturday in his 14th Iron Man Competition in Kona, Hawaii. He completed the competition which is known as “The Ultimate in Ironman Competition.” Amanda Bechen gave $10 for bringing her son Vincent home from his basic training where he had a successful time in training. Vincent won three different competitions which were displayed on a ribbon bar on his uniform.
Rotarian Tim Thaler held the winning ticket from the Queen of Hearts drawing but only drew the five of Spades. The attendance teams each had three misses for the day with a total of eight misses for the Doom Team and fourteen misses for the Frei Team.
Weekly Football book winners were Mike Johnson sold by Patty Frei and Kensley Deurmier sold by Jamie Soukup. Rotarian Gerrit Juffer announced that there were pictures of our Nick Dion on the Facebook #5610 Rotary Club page.
Secretary/Treasurer Craig Krsnak oversaw the program, and he submitted a written report of the club finances. There was good discussion on several topics. The Wagner Club is in good shape financially.
We adjourned in our usual fashion by reciting The Four-Way Test: Is it the TRUTH? Is it FAIR to all concerned? Will it build GOODWILL & BETTER FRIENDSHIPS? Will it be BENEFICIAL to all concerned?
