President Elect Jordan Weber rang the Rotary Bell with a ferocious whack of the bell that brought everyone to attention immediately! He won’t need any lessons on bell ringing in the future. There were no guests present for the April 22nd meeting, so Pastor/Rotarian Bill Heermann gave a blessing with thankfulness for the food and hope for guidance as all Rotarians go about doing good works in the Wagner Community.
Assistant Song Leader Jeff Doom was not prepared to lead the singing, but he chose the first song that he opened the book up to which was Old MacDonald Had a Farm. We did an excellent job on a well-known song!
Membership Minute Chairperson Ken Cotton spoke about the Rotary Peace Centers. Rotarians can go through a competitive selection process every year in their Rotary districts. 130 leaders are selected to become Rotary Peace Fellows. They earn either a master’s degree or a professional development certificate in peace and conflict studies at one of the Rotary Peace Centers at leading universities around the world.
Assistant Sergeant at Arms Amanda Bechen was very lenient with fines: $5 in fine money went to Jeff Doom who had an accident with a pecan pie at the dessert table; $2 to Scott McAdaragh who had predicted that there would be no fines today with the Assistant Sergeant. A Happy Fine of $5 came from Linda Soukup who said that the Soukup family was going to be interviewed in the afternoon for an article in the Charles Mix Electric Association magazine on Century Farms. Another Happy Fine of $2 came from Jerry Henke who saluted the staff at the WCM Hospital and Bryan Slaba’s staff.
The Queen of Hearts has been found! President Elect Jordan Weber held the lucky ticket number and promptly pulled the Queen from the remaining cards. He was the recipient of $575.00.
Rotarian Patty Frei was standing in for Craig Krsnak and she reported that the Juffer team has seven misses, and the Frei Team has five misses. Assistant District Governor Bill Frei invited everyone to tune in to a President Elect Learning Seminar online on Saturday. Contact him or Patty for more information.
Rotarian Scott McAdaragh introduced his program which was given by Mykala Voita. Mykala is from Burke, South Dakota. She was born into a sixth generation Gregory County family. She grew up learning to work hard on the farm, developed a passion for rodeo and hunting. After graduation she became a partner in her family’s business where she remains employed, installing utilities, doing dirt work, as well as demolition contracting. She recently followed her passion, to become certified with a ministry to teach and share about her Savior Jesus Christ. She and her husband, Justice, are raising two children.
Mykala has been enthusiastic about educating fellow citizens on what they can do to protect the way of life we love. She has been an advocate for protecting property rights, being a voice for the unborn, and upholding the United States Constitution. Mykala has been active in her county, connecting with other concerned citizens to hold public presentations about the 30x30 agenda, as well as spearheading a campaign to make her county a Second Amendment Sanctuary County.
Mykala believes in protecting our God given rights and wants to help STOP government overreach. She believes in local control and small government, election integrity and transparency and protection of Private property rights.
She believes government is to operate by the consent of the governed, with its purpose being to secure the people’s freedoms, NOT regulate them into serfdom.
She gave a very impassioned talk and answered many questions from those present. Mykala will be running for the District 21 Senate seat and genuinely believes in Under God, the People Rule.
If you are interested in talking to Mykala, you can contact her at voitaforthepeople@gmail.com The meeting was adjourned in our usual fashion by reciting The Four-Way Test: 1. Is it the TRUTH? 2. Is it FAIR to all concerned? 3. Will it build GOODWILL & BETTER FRIENDSHIPS? 4. Will it be BENEFICIAL to all concerned?
