The September 27th meeting of the Wagner Rotary Club was brought to order by President Becky Brunsing with just a light tap on the Rotary bell, which was commented on by some members! There was no Pastor present, so the President read a prayer for clubs that she obtained from the internet. Good old internet!

The Song leader and his assistant were both absent, so Amanda Bechen and Jordan Weber picked out what they thought was appropriate for the season and the members did a good job of singing “Take Me Out to the Ballgame!” Baseball is slowly ending for the regular season and playoffs will start soon.

Ken Cotton Membership Minute Chairman gave a few minutes to updating how Rotary is structured. Rotary is made up of three parts: our clubs, Rotary International, and The Rotary Foundation. Rotary and Rotaract clubs belong to the global association RI (Rotary International) which supports its clubs worldwide by coordinating global programs and initiatives. The Rotary Foundation helps fund our humanitarian activities, from local service projects to global iniatives. You can look around Wagner and see several projects within the community which have been funded by the Rotary Foundation.

Sergeant at Arms Jamie Soukup came forward to levy fines: $2 to Jordan Weber for his birthday last week, $2 to Rachel Woods for a phone infraction last week, $10 to Bryan Slaba for disappearing on a big trip recently, $2 to Jamie himself for his last-minute arrival at the club last week. Happy fines came from Bill Frei; $10.00 for finding a new combine and its Red! $2 from Becky Brunsing for becoming a grandmother in the future again; $2 from Ken Cotton for driving all morning in the fog for a meeting in Yankton and having a safe trip.

Rotarian Rachel Woods had a chance at the Queen of Hearts but came up with a six of Spades.

Secretary/Treasurer Craig Krsnak announced that the amount in the Queen drawing is up to $150.00 He declared the attendance race a total loss already: The Juffer Team has 16 misses, and the Frei Team has 7 misses. The past Monday Night Football winners were Jody Dvorak sold by Kathe Henke and Sandy Link sold by Craig Krsnak.

President Brunsing passed out a list of the Senior Class members who will be attending Rotary starting on October 11th. She urged everyone to read their email with the current updates on the upcoming District #5610 Convention to be held in Yankton beginning on this coming Thursday, September 28th, 29th, and 30th.

Rotarian Bill Frei presented the program which centered around membership in District #5610 clubs. There are Zoom meetings that the district has been conducting. There are approximately 1,567 members in our District. A discussion began concerning membership in our district and of our local Rotary Club.

Have you ever wondered what exactly do we do at our Wagner Club Meetings? You are welcome to attend a meeting at any time. Contact the President Becky Brunsing, Secretary/ Treasurer Craig Krsnak, Sergeant at Arms Jamie Soukup, or our Assistant District Governor Bill Frei. We welcome anyone to our club meetings. Rotary is nonpolitical and nonreligious, and we strive to create a welcoming atmosphere. We exchange ideas, discuss service projects to carry out in our community. We are a friendly bunch of people of all ages, occupations, interests, and dedicated to improving our community. We have a program each week which brings in individuals in many occupations throughout our community and in the surrounding communities. We like to think that our programs are a community informational resource.

THE FOUR-TEST IS a very important motto for a Rotarian: Of the things we think, say or do Is it the TRUTH? Is it FAIR to all concerned? Will it build GOODWILL and BETTER FRIENDSHIPS? Will it be BENEFICIAL to all concerned?
